- Sunday May 10: Mothers’ Day Star Swamp 10kH/5k 5kWalkH 8am. Visitors are welcome for a fee of $7 for online entry and $10 for entry on the day. Either pre-register using the link on the right side-bar, or register on the day at the Visitor Table, (exact cash please).
The object of our club is to encourage and promote Masters Athletics, general fitness, and to provide opportunities for training and competition.

Membership is open to men and women 30 years of age and over.
MAWA acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures, and to Elders both past and present.

Star Swamp parking
Star Swamp – Sunday 10th May.
Please note, the oval is closed for parking this year. Please utilise extra parking on North Beach Road adjacent to Charles Riley Reserve, and opposite the school and Curious Cow Coffee Stand.

Road running and walking championships start this week
Two of our signature events start this week – the annual road running and road walking championships. Each event consists of three distances; for running, 10k, 15k and 25k and for walking 5k, 10k and 15 k. The relevant dates are: 3 May for the 10k run and 5k walk, 17 May for the 15k run and 10k walk and 7 June for the 25k run and 15k walk. No need to register as we work out the participants from the results – all finishers get a medal and overall winners’ trophies for men and women!
We also have a short course option for both running and walking – same dates as above but the distances are 5k, 5k and 5.2k for both runners and walkers. The short course events have not been well-supported so if you want to see them continue, vote with your feet by participating. -
Track Handicap
A small but high quality group of members competed in this year’s event in perfect conditions at ECAC.
Congratulations to Rodney Glossop who was in scintillating form to set a new PB and take out the trophy. Crystal Glossop made it a family affair by finishing 2nd while club secretary Clare Wardle took a minute off last year’s time to finish in 3rd place.
Thanks to club members who turned up to help Rochelle Airey, Andrew Cuthbertson, Frank Price, Gillian Young, Milton Mavrick, Barbara and Richard Blurton.

Race directors required!
- Race Director required for the Road Running Championship 25km. (RRC25km) 8am Sunday 7 Jun 2026 at Resort Drive, BURSWOOD PARK Events are: RRC25k and RRC5k, Road Walking Championship 15 km (RWC15k) and RWC5k plus 15, 10 and 5k runs.
- Race Director required for the Club Cross Country Championships 8am Sunday 21 Jun 2026 at Jorgensen Park. Crescent Road, KALAMUNDA. Events are: 8k, 6k and 4k.
- Race Director required for the Fathers Day Run 8am Sunday 6 Sep 2026 at Wireless Hill. Almondbury Road, BOORAGOON. Events are: 8k and 4k.
